1. Man Takes Beating To Avoid Probation Violation
A man contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office just after 2:30 am to report he’d been assaulted in South Webster by someone he knew.
He said that since he was on probation and would get in trouble for fighting, he allowed the other guy to “kick the sh#! out of him.”
He declined medical treatment and said he would be back in contact with officers when he came in to pay some fines the next day.
2. Strange Behavior at the Dollar General
Just before 6 pm, witnesses reported a woman stumbling into the roadway on St. Rte. 73. A few minutes later, another caller said the woman was pushing a shopping cart in the area of the Family Dollar and headed toward the IGA.
Another caller reported the woman was now sitting on the curb by the Dollar General and twitching.
When officers caught up with the woman, they warned her to stay out of the road and advised her to leave the Dollar General lot. She complied with the order and officers searched the area for the shopping cart she’d taken from the IGA.
