Horse Put Down on Bloom Furnace Road
A sad end to yet another case of an animal getting loose in the county. At 2 pm, a caller reported that a horse had been running loose in the area of Bloom Furnace Road for several days. The caller said the animal was not injured and appeared to have a broken leg, and was lying in the barn. They said the owner had not sought any medical help for the horse.
Deputies spoke to the horse’s owner, and she agreed to send a vet to the barn. However, the owner did not come to the location. The vet had issues with the family in the past and requested that a deputy stand by. The vet determined the best course of action was to put the horse down, and that happened without incident.
