Maxine Mitchell, 91 of West Portsmouth, died Sunday July 23, 2023 at her home. She was born November 10, 1931 in Portsmouth, to the late Allen and Alice Naomi Williams Charles. Along with her parents,
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eynon “Popeye” Mitchell, whom she married on December 15, 1950, 2 sons: Charles Allen Mitchell and Jeffrey D. “Bubba” Mitchell, 2 brothers: Donald Charles and James Charles and a grandson Jeffrey Mitchell Jr..
Maxine is survived by a daughter Cynthia Skaggs and 4 grandchildren: Chris Mitchell, Shad Mitchell, Josh Mitchell, and Bob Lemon along with a great grandson Bobby L. Lemon.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park.
