Mindy Lynn Grooms, 44, of Portsmouth, died Sunday, March 24, 2024 at SOMC. She was born May 29, 1979, in Portsmouth to Rickey Grooms of Ironton and Kelly Coppock of Portsmouth. Mindy had a big personality and was full of life. She loved music and loved to dance.
Mindy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mike and Sue Evans, Rosie and Carlos Harr, David Grooms, and Shannon Worthington, Sr., an uncle, James Worthington, and an aunt, Terry Adams. She was also preceded in death by her daughter’s father, Brian Bradford.
She is survived by her two children, Elijah Brown of Argillite, KY, and Emma Bradford of Portsmouth, fiancé, David Plew of Portsmouth, father Ricky Grooms of Ironton, mother, Kelly Coppock (David) of Portsmouth, sisters, Misty Stidham (Anthony) of Ironton, Abbi Grooms of Peebles, and Addison Grooms of North Carolina, two nieces, Hailee and Baylin, and a nephew, Broxton, a step-grandmother, Mary Lou Grooms, and several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 29, 2024, at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth, with Pastor Vicki Bays officiating. A visitation for friends and family will be on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the start of service at 1:00 P.M.
