Nothing gets a parent’s heart beating faster than not knowing the location of their child. A West Portsmouth Mom contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office late Friday afternoon when her daughter failed to get off the school bus.
The mom tried to locate the girl via her phone, but the child had turned off the location. Officers headed to the last location shown on the phone and found that the child was there. However, she was in no mood to cooperate. She refused to give her mother her phone or to get in the vehicle with her mother.
A deputy explained to the child, that she could be charged with disorderly conduct if she did not obey the adults at the scene. An officer gave the child a ride home, so she’d have time to calm down and explained that if police had to come back, she’d be going to the juvenile detention center for the weekend.
