Naked Woman Causes Disturbance At Portsmouth Holiday Inn

A naked woman raised a ruckus at the Holiday Inn and a crime victim ends up behind bars. We hit the highlights of the Portsmouth Police Chief’s Daily Briefing.

Woman Arrested After Reporting TV Stolen

A Thomas Avenue resident called police just after 1 am to report someone broke into her apartment and took her TV.

Unfortunately, it turned out she had an open warrant with PPD. Police took her into custody and dropped her off at the jail.

Naked Woman Cause Disturbance At Holiday Inn

At 4 am, officers responded to a report of a woman causing a disturbance at the Portsmouth Holiday Inn. She answered the door to her room naked and began to talk about murdering someone.

The officer said the severely intoxicated woman got dressed and undressed several times. The woman was so combative, the rescue squad could not take her to the hospital.

The officer decided to take her instead and at one point she kicked him. Police transported her to the hospital for treatment.

Valero Gas Break-in

Two men broke the glass at the Valero Gas on Gallia at 4 am. A witness saw them take cigars and then take off on a bike towards the overpass.

Officers attempted to obtain a security video but had difficulty getting it to download. Police took information for a report.

Later in the day, they were able to obtain the video.

BB Gun Damages Home

A Gallia Street caller contacted officers at 11:28 am to report kids playing with BB guns damaged two windows of her house.

Officers spoke with the kids. The shooting was accidental. The father of one of the kids agreed to pay for the damages.

Suspicious Behavior

At 11:30 am, a Vinton Avenue caller reported a young woman in a flannel shirt and house slippers who didn’t know where she was or her name. The fire department transported her to the hospital.

Explicit Images

At 1:22 pm, concerned parents flagged down an officer to ask for help with a delicate situation. Their underage daughter was sending explicit images to other kids.

The officer advised them of their options through Juvenile Court.

Panhandling Problem

A caller contacted police about another incident with panhandling incident in the Aldi Foods parking lot. A couple with an infant in a stroller were bumming money.

The caller was concerned about the welfare of the child.

Hey, That’s My Stuff!

  • Just after 2 pm, a man stole ice cream from the Family Dollar and fled on foot.
  • At 10:38 pm, a Robinson Avenue caller reported a man for stealing his lawnmower. However, that man claimed it was his lawnmower. Neither party could prove ownership.

Dangerous Dogs

  • A Bonser Avenue man contacted police at 2:30 pm to report his sister’s husky bit their mother. This was not the first biting incident with the dog and he was concerned the dog might bit his children. An officer picked up the dog and took it to animal control.
  • Just after 5:30 pm, a caller reported a child bit by a dog on Jackson Avenue. Animal control picked up the animal.

Feuding Kids Neglect Mom

A long-suffering Kendall Avenue mother, whose adult kids regularly call kids to her home to settle their disagreements was in the middle of it again.

Just after 5:30 pm, the sister reported her brothers were harassing their mother and withholding her insulin. Police contacted Adult Protective Services.

Police got the insulin pen back to the woman but the siblings were still arguing over where the rest of her medicine was.

Police gave all the siblings a good talking to.
