Portsmouth neighbors contacted the police department to report drug and noise complaints overnight.
The first call came in at 12:23 am. A man told officers he believed a home on Selma Avenue was a drug house. He also reported several vehicles parked outside and loud music.
The man was irate because he claimed he made a complaint earlier in the week, and no one checked it out. He demanded officers do something and suggested that they pull over any vehicles leaving the property.
Twenty minutes later, officers checked the scene but did not hear any noise or loud music.
At the same time, a Sterling Avenue caller told police there was a loud party at a home and a strong odor of marijuana.
Police checked the scene about half an hour later. Officers said there was no loud party in progress, but they did advise the residents about the smell of marijuana.
