1. Officers Play Maintenance Man To Help Seniors
Portsmouth Police Officers stepped in to assist residents of the Portsmouth Senior Lofts after a late-night plumbing issue.
Just before 12:30 am, officers responded to a report of a loud noise and flooding at the Campbell Avenue apartment complex.
Officers discovered that the water pipe from the water heater was damaged. They helped turn off the flow of water, assisted residents in contacting building maintenance, and helped squeegee the excess water down the drain.
2. Vandals Hit Fifth Third ATM
Officers responded to the Fifth Third Bank Main Branch at 9:30 am for a report of a damaged ATM.
When police arrived at the scene, they learned that sometime between 6:30 and 7:30 am, someone glued the cash door to the machine shut so that cash was not dispensed.
Officers took information for a report.
