Officers from multiple agencies joined in the hunt for a man with several open warrants in Lucasville.
Around 8:40 pm, deputies said they spotted him running across Center Street into a field.
Dispatch contacted PPD and they brought a K9 unit to help in the search.
At 9:20 pm, a caller spotted the man hiding in crates near the old Scioto Breeze Drive-In. A deputy found the man’s shirt in the area.
Another caller said they were parked on Rt. 23 and spotted the guy running across a field. Multiple units surrounded the area of the ODOT garage to search, but none of them were able to locate the man.
A source told SCDN that this all stemmed from a pending warrant for robbery. According to that source, the suspect assaulted a Lucasville store owner during the commission of shoplifting. When he was spotted getting a pop from the soda machine outside the same store some time later, they contacted the police.
