Overdose Reported at Aldi’s
EMS responded to Aldi Foods at 6:30 pm for a report that a man had overdosed. He refused to go to the hospital and did not want to seek treatment. A family member took him home.
At 4 am, officers and medics responded to Mabert road for a report that a woman had overdosed. Medics from the Portsmouth Fire Department revied the woman.
Woman Refuses To Leave Homeless Shelter
Just after 3 am, officers were called to the Homeless Shelter at the Armory to escort a woman from the property. Police said she appeared to have mental health issues, but left without incident. The woman said she had a ride on the way from Kentucky.
However, she returned three hours later and refused to stop ringing the bell. Police picked her up at Speedway and brought her back to the shelter, where they served her with a letter barring her from the property.
The woman said she would attempt to find a ride to Kentucky.
