Parolee Busted for 30th Time After Reporting Bizarre Robbery Scheme

A Portsmouth parolee contacted officers at 11 pm to report three men were following him and planning to rob him.

He told officers a man observed him counting money at a halfway house in Chillicothe, and he believed he was being set up to be robbed. He claimed a group of men was following him in a silver vehicle.

Officers did not see any sign of the alleged robbers, but discovered that the alleged victim, Jason Stevens had an open warrant for parole violation.

The 40-year-old man was released on parole in early February on felonious assault and domestic violence charges.

This was his 30th visit to the Scioto County Jail. Previous arrests include burglary, theft, DUI, domestic violence, possession of drugs, parole and probation violation, and assault.
