Just before noon, Portsmouth Police responded to a report of a man sleeping in the grass in Mound Park.
When officers spoke to the man, they sent for the drug crisis response team to talk to him. He agreed to leave with them and go for treatment.
Half an hour later, police responded to Wayne Hills after a report that a woman who’d been banned from the apartment complex was trespassing. Police took Danita Carver into custody for criminal trespass.

Carver was arrested back on March 27 for failure to appear and was previously arrested for disorderly conduct and possession when she was found lying on a Wayne Hills sidewalk last fall.
This was her 17th visit to the Scioto County Jail. Previous arrests include probation violation, failure to appear, possession of drug abuse instruments, aggravated arson, contempt, OVI, and driving under a suspension.
