An interesting Sunday for PPD  started with a police chase and didn’t end until officers had experienced a bottomless woman on Gallia Street and reported a complaint of armed lawn care.  We break down the highlights in the next 15 slides.  Want the full and unfiltered police reports? Turning Myself In or Not

A man called police from the parking lot of the Scioto Ribber and said he wanted to turn himself in on a warrant. When officers arrived ten minutes later at 1:47 am, he was nowhere to be found.

Police Chase

Officers took part in a pursuit just after 3 am. They chased the vehicle east on Gallia and stopped it behind Portsmouth Ambulance. They held the driver at gunpoint and took him into custody. The vehicle was towed and its owner notified where to find it.

No Place To Go

A man flagged down officers to report a woman sleeping behind a gym on Kendall Avenue. Officers advised her to pack up and leave the property.

Can’t We All Just Get Along?

Custody Issues

A woman called police at 12:30 pm to complain that her husband was at the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office when she dropped her child off for visitation. She said their agreement is that his mother must be present for the exchange. Officers noted the violation of the civil protective order.

Officers met with the woman just after 6:30 pm at the custody exchange. They arrested and booked the man.

Hey, That’s My Stuff!

A Baird Avenue man reported his neighbor was stealing wood from his fence. He told police he’d screwed pieces of wood to the neighbor’s fence to keep it from falling down. The neighbor then removed the wood. Police aren’t sure who owns the fence.

A Linden Avenue caller reported a theft of a credit card at 4:27 pm. Police took a report.

Worried Aunt

A woman asked police to check on the welfare of her 5-year-old nephew just after 2 pm. She told police she has custody of the boy but has not seen him since July. She wanted to bring the boy a gift but his parents weren’t opening the door.

Police made contact with the parents and the woman was able to speak to the child.

Armed Lawn Care

A woman called police complaining that her landlord was taking care of the lawn on her Charles Street home just after 2:30 pm.

She said the man was using a weed eater while she was attempting to get packed up to move and that he was bothering her dogs.   She also stated that the man had a gun in a holster.

Locked Out

At 11:26 pm, police answered a call about a man jumping around and lying on the ground and shaking a stop sign on Sterling Avenue. It turned out to be a juvenile.

He said a friend had dropped him off at home but his parents weren’t there, so he was locked out. They arrived a short time later.  However, it turned out that dad had a warrant. The officer took him into custody and to the jail. He was issued a summons and released.

Missing daughter

A man called police just after 4:30 pm to report that his adult daughter missing. He said he’s not seen her since the 1st of August. He reported that she is a drug addict and was last seen at the 17th Street Homeless Shelter.

Police took a report.

Half Naked On Gallia

Just after 6 pm, a caller reported a woman running around half-naked on Gallia Street. She wore a purple shirt but no pants or underwear. She was sprinting in and out of the woods behind the AT & T store.

Officers could not locate her when they arrived on the scene.

Welfare Check

Just after 8 pm, police checked on the welfare of an elderly Thomas Avenue woman. She called several people and was rambling. 

Officers discovered the woman’s son ran out to the store. She was concerned about him and made a few phone calls. She was fine once her son arrived home.
