A Portsmouth parolee found himself in a familiar place after the US Marshal’s Task Force showed up at his house on High Street Thursday morning.
Officers were there to arrest Rocky Newman, 45, for violating his parole. When parole officers searched the home, they discovered 22 grams of a suspicious powdery substance.
Detectives with the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force were called to assist in the investigation. They uncovered another bag of powder and some digital scales.
Also arrested on the scene was Antwan Felder, 44, also of Portsmouth. He was picked up violating his probation. Both men were taken to the Scioto County Jail.
The powdery substance will be tested by the Ohio BCI & I Crime Lab. If the substances are confirmed to be illegal drugs, the case will be sent to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office to be presented to a grand jury for felony drug charges.
Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini and Portsmouth Interim Police Chief Debby Brewer request anyone wishing to leave drug information for the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force, call (740) 354-5656 or email [email protected]. All information will be kept confidential.
