Fowler Media Partners has announced the rebranding and call sign change of Portsmouth Radio Station 98.3 FM.
The Station is now branded as 98-3 Hot FM with a tagline of Today’s Hottest Music. The Radio Station plays a hot mix of the Top 40 songs in America with an upbeat slick presentation, minimal talking, and chatter with Local Weather, News, and Public Event Coverage.
“It was time for a change”, says Bryan Fowler of Fowler Media Partners. “The Station was Country WPAY when we purchased it and while it has done fairly well in the ratings we have felt like for some time there was a hole for modern new music in Portsmouth-in other words, there is a Country Radio Station on every corner of the Tri-State that bleeds into Scioto County and the overall most listened to radio station in Scioto County is actually in Huntington-93.7 The Dawg.”
“Additionally, we wanted to do something that complimented the great job our peers at Hometown Broadcasting are doing and not divest their Variety/Adult Hits and Classic Rock Formats. There is a need and room for all of us. Diversity is good for the Market”.
98-3 Hot FM is identified by the FCC as WFHT and has 2 FM signals blanketing the market and giving Portsmouth its most powerful secular/commercial Fm-a 5,200 Watt Signal just off the AA Highway and a 1,200 Watt Signal in downtown Portsmouth.
Hot FM broadcasts on FM 98-3, their website at 983hotfm.com, on their own mobile app, and on a host of national radio hosting apps.
They are located on the 4th floor of the PNC Bank Building and their newly built facilities have been featured in Radio Trade and Engineering magazines.
