Responding to calls of incidents at the Royal Inn is not an unusual occurrence for Portsmouth Police Officers, though fortunately, most of the crimes are not violent ones.
That all changed just before 4 a.m. when a caller reported a man with a gun robbing someone in the alley behind the Kendall Avenue Hotel.

Officers headed to the scene to investigate, though what happened next is not exactly clear as police redacted the outcome of the investigation from the daily police log.
Booking logs were not available for the day yet from the jail, and there were no criminal hearings listed in Portsmouth Municipal Court today, so it’s difficult to determine if anyone was booked on charges related to the robbery.
