Roy Lee Brown, 67, of Oldtown, KY., passed from this earth on Friday, October 25, 2024 at his home. He was born in Ironton, OH., November 15, 1956 a son of the late Robert and Leona Matthews Brown.
Roy was a Kentucky Colonel, enjoyed outdoor activities and riding his horse, Thunder. Roy also enjoyed being involved in community activities such as cleaning lakes and riverbanks. He also got great pleasure from get togethers with family and friends.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers, Danny, Bobby and Keith Brown.
Surviving are his wife Hettie Gray Brown; daughter, Rachea (Dalton); bonus daughters, Cheranda (Charles) Blevins and Miranda (Brent) McGlone; his grandchildren, who brought him great joy and laughter, Madison, Nathanial, Willow and Lucas; one great-granddaughter, Mikaila; one grand baby and one great-grand baby on the way; three sisters, Faye Mangus of MI., Linda Slaughter and Lisa (Tim) Potter both of South Shore, KY; two brothers, Delmas (Shirley) of TN., and Ted of Oldtown, KY; along with a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Funeral services will be at 1 P.M. Monday, October 28, 2024 at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Brother Mark Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Robert Brown Cemetery in Greenup, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be Monday at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
