Ruth Elizabeth Morris, 93, of Wheelersburg, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, at the Best Care Nursing Facility. She was born September 9, 1927, in Wheelersburg, a daughter of the late Raymond Carmel and Tillie Lorraine Aeh Lockhart.
Ruth was a graduate of South Webster High School. She had worked at the former Williams Manufacturing Company and then retired as office manager for the late Dr. Lloyd Oder. Ruth enjoyed cooking for everyone and being a grandmother. She was a member of the Sunshine Church of Christ in Minford.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Jill L. Williams, and her husband, Steve, of Sciotoville; her granddaughter, Dr. Jenny (Aaron) White of Akron; and her grandson, Samuel (Shelby) Williams of Ironton.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, David Smittle Morris, whom she married on September 14, 1952. Also preceding her in death was her son, Johnathan D. Morris; and her daughter, Janine R. Morris.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 30, 2021, at 1 P.M. at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with interment following in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Jamie Riley and Jason Coriell, ministers are to officiate the service.
