Scioto County First Responders Handle 144 Calls

Scioto County emergency crews were hopping on Thursday, July 3, as they answered a whopping 82 calls for service ranging from medical emergencies and drug complaints to traffic stops and fire alarms. 

This report includes call data provided by the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) for that date. In early 2025, the agency decided to stop providing Scioto County Daily News with detailed logs, but we remain committed to transparency and continue to bring you every detail available.

Medical runs, domestic disputes, prowlers, and prank alarms fill the holiday 

Fourth of July in Scioto County wasn’t just about fireworks lighting up the sky—it was about emergency lights flashing all over the map. Between midnight and midnight, Scioto County first responders answered 62 calls ranging from medical emergencies and domestic incidents to threats, prowlers, and false alarms. 

As a reminder, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office stopped providing full, detailed call logs to the Scioto County Daily News earlier this year. While we can’t give you all the details we once could, we remain committed to transparency and continue to report every piece of information available. 

🚑 EMS & Fire Calls Dominate the Day 

Medical emergencies kept EMS squads hopping, with 28 emergency squad runs throughout the county. 

👮‍♂️ Crime and Chaos: Threats, Theft, and Domestic Drama 

Criminal complaints and investigations covered a lot of ground: 

A vandalism case was logged on Hammerstein Road, and mental health-related calls came in from Heuter Hollow Road and again late in the evening on Green Street.

🚨 Alarms & False Starts 

Alarm drops accounted for at least 8 calls, many ultimately false or canceled. Locations included: 

Repeat alarms from the same address stretched responders thin, a recurring issue in recent weeks. 

🚗 Accidents, Traffic Stops, and ATV Shenanigans 

Deputies dealt with 6 crashes, most with no injuries. Reports came from: 

Nine traffic stops resulted in warnings, with incidents near DESCO Lucasville, Offnere Street, and Backyard Wellness. There was also a motorcycle/ATV complaint on Turkey Foot Road, but officers were unable to locate the rider.
