Sheriff Busts Human Trafficking Operation
New details in the prostitution arrests SCDN exclusively told you about a few days ago.
Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman says it was part of a joint operation of the Southern Ohio Organized and Major Crimes Taskforce to break up a human trafficking operation.
Police arrested Wheelerburg residents 44-year-old Ronald E. Wheatly and 29-year-old Kaylee Ashtin Maynard.
Wheatly was charged with promoting prostitution and engaging in prostitution. This was Wheatly’s 11th trip to the Scioto County Jail. His previous arrests include probation violation, failure to appear, petty theft, permitting drug abuse, and possession of meth.

Maynard is charged with promoting prostitution. This is her 4th trip to the jail. Previous arrests include failure to appear and drug possession.
A third woman was arrested on a warrant but may face more charges.
Sheriff Thoroughman said she is considered a victim and will be offered treatment, as will any other individuals determined to be victims of human trafficking.
