The staff of the new and much-heralded Donut Distillery were shocked to find their store robbed overnight.
It appeared that the front glass door had been kicked in. A cash register was missing from the store.
In this case, no suspects have been identified.
There were alarms going off at several businesses in the area throughout the night.
Across the street, the Citizens Bank branch had an alarm.
A glass break alarm was also triggered 90 minutes later at Kathy Sue’s Bakery on Market Street.
These robberies are very quick. Typically, the burglar spends only two to three minutes inside the store before fleeing.
Suspects can be hard to identify even when video cameras are present.
The Portsmouth Police Department would like to know if you have any information about the burglary.
