Just before 4 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person near the Family Dollar Store on 11th Street.
Officers took a man originally from Indiana into custody for drug abuse. They attempted to take his bicycle to the sober living facility where he resides on Kinneys Lane for safekeeping, but no one there was willing to take responsibility.
Officers impounded his bicycle for safekeeping and took him to the Scioto County Jail. He was arraigned in Scioto County Municipal Court that morning for drug abuse, and his preliminary hearing date was set for September 7.
Officers took possession of another bike around 9:30 am when an employee of the BP on Gallia spotted it sitting near their dumpster.
A few hours later, a 6th Street caller reported finding two bikes next to her house. She was unsure if they were stolen or if kids left them there. Officers said if the bikes were still there in two days, they would swing by to impound them.
