Shoplifters Hit Speedway
Just after 7:30 am, employees from Speedway contacted Portsmouth Police officers to report that a man and a woman had shoplifted items from the store.
The pair left before police arrived, but were caught on video surveillance. The officers on the scene could not identify the suspects, but said they would send out a departmental email with images to see if anyone else recognized them.
Shoplifter Busted at Super Quik
Just after 10 am on Sunday, officers responded to the Super Quik on the Scioto Trail for a report of a shoplifter.
When police arrived at the scene, they took Angela Shepherd into Custody for theft and probation violation.
Shepherd has a long history of arrests on charges including receiving stolen property, criminal damaging, and attempted murder.
Burglar Caught in the Act on 8th Street
Officers took a man into custody after a report of an attempted break-in on 8th Street. Just before 3 am, a woman contacted the police to report someone was trying to get into the side door of her home.
When officers arrived at the scene, they took a man into custody.
Panhandler Steals Shopping Cart To Hold His Trash Collection
A homeless man known for collecting tremendous amounts of trash got into trouble with the manager of Save A Lot after he helped himself to a shopping cart and loaded it up with garbage.
The manager asked the man to clean it out and return it; however, the man refused and headed off toward Taco Bell with his trash trolley.
An officer caught up with the man and advised him to clean out the cart and return it. The man complied.
Speedway Shoplifter Runs From Cops
Just before 10 am on Friday, Speedway employees reported that a man wearing a white shirt and gray pants stole a phone charger.
When officers arrived at the store, the man took off running. Police could not serve him with a no-trespass warning for the store.
Officers pursued the man for a few minutes but decided to terminate the pursuit.
