There was quite a stir among our members on social media Friday evening after a 20-minute high-speed chase along 104 involving several Sherriff’s Department and Ohio State Highway Patrol units.
At 5:37 pm, a Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on Galena Pike in West Portsmouth near Slab Run. The deputy said the blue/green Ford Taurus didn’t have a visible license plate.
The vehicle sped away from the stop. Initially, they headed across the Carl Parkins Bridge into Kentucky. Then, turned around and returned to the Ohio Side at speeds over 100 mph.
They avoided stop sticks, ran the stop light, and continued north past the Briar Patch at speeds over 90 mph.
The vehicle crashed at a home near the intersection of 104 and Bear Creek Rd in Morgan Township.
A Deputy followed the squad to SOMC.
The vehicle was towed by Ted’s towing company.
Later, it was determined that the driver identified himself as 29-year-old Lee Anthony. Officers soon discovered that his full name was Le-Anthony Robertson.
Robertson has a warrant out of Union County as well as 2 warrants from Columbus Police.
After he was treated and released from SOMC, he was booked into the Scioto County Jail.
Robertson has been charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Resisting Arrest, and Failure to Appear. More charges may be sent to the Grand Jury.
