Officers responded to what could have been a potentially dangerous situation after a 14-year-old girl who was home alone with her sister and a friend said a strange man walked into their house on 7th Street and sat down on the couch.
Officers caught up with the man about fifteen minutes later, and he had a very different story to tell. The extremely intoxicated man told officers the girls invited him into the home and offered him alcohol.
Police reviewed security footage from the home and also a Snapchat video the girls made of the incident where they were laughing, joking, and making fun of the man for being intoxicated.
The girls gave him what he believed to be alcohol, but it was actually juice. Although the man did enter the house, it appeared the girls were being dishonest about what happened.
The mother decided not to press charges against the man, the children were warned about their behavior, and the intoxicated man was released to a sober party.
