Stray dogs trap Portsmouth woman in her home
Between midnight on Wednesday and early Friday morning, Portsmouth Police responded to 129 calls.
Among the calls was a Wednesday morning trip to the courthouse where a woman passed out while voting. She didn’t require transport to the hospital.
Later that afternoon, officers saved the life of a young man in an alley near Vinton and Young. They responded to reports of a man dancing around in the alley and found him lying facedown. Officers administered Narcan. The man refused further treatment.
In what must have made for a pleasant change-of-pace for officers on Wednesday evening, the answered a call to 6th Street regarding a window being broken out during baseball practice. The resident said she’d told her landlord about the issue and the ballplayers and woman agreed to stay in touch to get the damages covered.
Just after midnight on Thursday, police responded to an apartment on Farley Court where two individuals had gotten into a loud verbal altercation over social media. The pair were advised to separate for the night.
On Thursday morning, stray dogs trap Portsmouth woman. An Offnere Street woman was prevented from leaving her home by three large dogs. It appears that all three dogs had been abandoned. Animal Control was able to take them into their care.
Later that evening, officers responded to a report of a woman passed out in her vehicle at the Aldi on Gallia. Turned out she had just dozed off while waiting for her father to finish his shopping.
However, call officers answered at the Pizza Hut on the Scioto Trail for individuals passed out in a car, turned out to be the real thing. All three suspects were arrested and transported to the Scioto County jail. Their vehicle was towed from the scene.
