A woman called the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office after she made a surprising discovery. When she applied for an apartment, her background check came back with a felony. The woman said she’d never been convicted of a felony and suspected a case of identity theft.
Local officers checked and did not find any felony convictions in the system. They forwarded the information to a detective for investigation and advised the woman to come in and get her fingerprints taken to compare to those on file for the felony.
