Susan (Mullens) Asbury, 68, of Portsmouth, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at SOMC Hospital in Portsmouth. She was born June 25, 1951, in Ironton to John and Helen Louise (Mosley) Mullens.
Susan was a 1969 graduate of South Webster High School and worked as a cashier at the C-Store. She enjoyed fox hunting, reading, the outdoors, and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by daughter, Jessie Asbury (Joe Howard) of Wheelersburg; stepsons, Rodney (Cindy) Asbury of Columbus and Keith Asbury of Columbus; brothers, John (Debbie) Mullins of Radcliff, KY and Bill (Claudia) Mullins of Fayetteville, NC; sisters, Loretta Houston of Wheelersburg, Bonnie (Doug) Besco of Wheelersburg, Candy (Brian) Robinson of South Bloomfield; two grandchildren, Montana Yates and Dakota Yates; two great-grandchildren, Lane Yates and Jaxon Yates.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ervin Asbury; sister, Betty Purdue; half-sisters, Ruth Stepp and Bertha Stepp; stepfather, Thomas Stepp, Jr.; stepson, Kevin Asbury.
Funeral services for Susan will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2020, at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in South Webster with Pastor Ronnie Massie officiating. Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Wheelersburg. Friends may call from 10 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made towards the funeral expenses.
