TCC Boss Terminates Her Secret Boyfriend’s Significant Other

Screenshots were shared on Facebook last week by a former employee when she learned her former boss (program director of the Hughes Reentry and Bridges programs) had been having an intimate relationship with her boyfriend, also a TCC employee.

The program director’s husband came to the clinic, which also caused an uproar amongst not only staff, but clients as well. While this sounds like high school drama, the aftermath and how HR handled this situation is what has been concerning.

The program director mostly placed blame on the man whom she was sleeping with and was told to “meet with the teams, take accountability, and move on.” However, when the director met with her teams, she once again placed blame on others stating the staff, whom she supervised were the ones gossiping and being unprofessional. Zero accountability was taken for her lack of professionalism.

Also, this same program director was recently put in a place where she had to supervise the former employee, whose boyfriend the PD was having the intimate relationship with. PD took on the role and did not disclose the conflict of interest, violating code of ethics. Shortly after, the employee was terminated.

This is once again TCC proving themselves to sweep issues under the rug rather than taking appropriate action.

While ideally, staff would go to HR about this or even the PD’s superior, however, it is evident the PD is favored and staff are fearful of retaliation.

*Publisher’s Note: The following is TCC’s response from Eric Stevens, Senior Director of Human Resources. “TCC was made aware of the alleged concern Friday evening. Our Human Resources and Compliance Departments have been engaged in a response and the matter remains under investigation. The referenced termination was, in fact, a separate matter, and TCC investigates all concerns of workplace misconduct and treats those matters very seriously.”
