Thieves hit the Citizen’s Bank in Wheelersburg in the middle of the night and got away with cash.
Just before 2:30 am, an alarm company notified the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office thieves were attempting to pull the ATM from the bank building with a two-toned truck.
When officers arrived at the bank, the truck was gone, and the ATM was busted open. They also found a crowbar at the scene.
The alarm company provided deputies with footage of the incident, and officers launched a manhunt to find the suspected vehicle.
A deputy located the truck at the corner of Gallia Pike and Porter Street around 9:30 a.m., but no suspects were found.
An employee of the Patriot Travel Center found part of a metal cash box from an ATM in their parking lot and said the company would check their security footage.
Officers arranged for the vehicle to be towed.
