Thieves Hit Goodwill Again


Thieves targeted the Goodwill on Robinson Avenue once again but that’s not the only thing crooks helped themselves to. We break down the highlights of the Portsmouth Police crime log.

Breaking Into Goodwill

In what’s becoming a nightly event, the Goodwill on Robinson Avenue was once again hit by thieves. Just before 2 am, a caller reported 4 people attempting to break into the lot.

The caller said two of the people she saw trying to get into the lot, took off on bikes before the police arrived.

Taking A Beating

A Charles Street caller reported a man beating his head on her car and also on her back door just before 3 am. She said the man is her ex-boyfriend. Though her car is damaged, she didn’t want to file a report. The woman said the behavior has been going to for about a month.

She declined to file a report. Police advised her on the procedure for a protective order.

The man returned to the home at 3:46 am. It appears he has mental health issues. Officers arranged for his mom to take him to the emergency room.

Life In Danger?

A caller from the Shawnee Counseling Center reported a woman knocking on the door and asking for police assistance. She claimed someone was going to kill her. The woman had previously called 911 because she was locked out of her apartment building.

Police transported her to her home at Hudson House.
