Thieves stole property belonging to a dead man and officers responded to 3 car crashes in 10 minutes on Monday. We break down the highlights from the Portsmouth Police Crime Log.

The Man With A Face Tattoo

Just after midnight, a caller reported a man with face tattoos dressed all in black acting strangely at the CVS on the Scioto Trail. A witness described him as talking out of his head and threatening to harm himself.

Stealing From the Dead

Officers answered a  burglary in progress call to 6th Street at 10:23 am.  A neighbor saw a woman in a yellow hoodie climb through the windows of an apartment belonging to a recently deceased man.  The woman and a man were then seen carrying property out the back door.  Officers secured the door and suggested the landlord board up the property.

Crash, Boom, Bang

Cry For Help

Officers headed to Robinson Avenue at 2:40 pm for a report a woman threatened to harm herself. The woman told police she was fine.

Domestic Assault

Just after 4 pm, a caller reported a man hitting a woman on Gallia Street. Officers were unable to locate the pair.

Under The Influence

Against Her Will?

At 10:57, police received a disturbing call that a woman was held against her will on 8th Street and then thrown from a window of an abandoned house.  Police responded to the scene but could not locate anyone.
