TikTok Kidnap Threat Investigated
A worried mom contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office to report a kidnapping threat made against her daughter on the TikTok social media app.
She had a screenshot of comments that implied her daughter would be gone soon. Neither the woman nor her daughter knew the commentor personally, but they were still worried by the statements.
Officers advised them to report the comments to TikTok and also to contact the FBI Cybercrimes division to report the incident.
The woman decided it was best that her daughter stay at a relative’s house as a precaution.
Windshield Busted in Doctor’s Office Parking Lot
Yet another case of windows busted out of a vehicle in Portsmouth, this time at a doctor’s office on 11th Street.
When a woman left her 2 pm doctor’s appointment, she discovered the rear passenger window of her vehicle was broken.
Since there was no damage to other cars and nothing was missing from the vehicle, the driver suspected that maybe the heat was to blame.
Homeless Squatters Steal Electricity
A fed-up Robinson Avenue neighbor contacted officers to report electricity theft. She said individuals were squatting in a vacant house on the corner and going in and out of the building through a window.
She said the squatters had run an extension cord to her house and kept flipping her outdoor breaker. Since she has an alarm on the breaker, she knows when it has been turned on.
The woman said she had notified AEP of the incident and contacted the homeowners.
