It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tony Lee Rawlins Jr., a beloved son, father, and grandfather. Born on August 16, 1979, in Portsmouth, OH, Tony unexpectedly passed on July 27, 2024, leaving a void in the lives of those who knew and cherished him.
Tony was a man of many passions. His strong faith in God and love for the Bible guided him through life’s challenges, and he found solace in spending time with family and friends. A dedicated laborer in the construction industry at Shawnee Counseling Center, he recently celebrated two years of sobriety, a testament to his strength and determination.
Tony’s love for sports, particularly football, was unparalleled. He enjoyed both watching and playing games. His warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
He was a devoted father to his son, Tony (Kayla) Rawlins III, and daughter, Mercedes Rawlins, both of Portsmouth, and a cherished grandfather to Jeremiah Adkins, Rylea Rawlins, and Tony Lee Rawlins IV. In his memory, Tony is survived by his grandparents, Nancy and Wesley “Lee” Rawlins, along with his siblings, Timothy Rawlins of Portsmouth, Daniel Canter of South Webster, and Kayla Rawlins of West Portsmouth, aunts, uncles, nephew and a host of other extended family members and dear friends.
Tony was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Charlene (Nee Fout) Jarrells.
The gathering of family and friends and Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a future date.
