Tragic Motorcycle Collision Claims Life in Sciotoville
A fateful collision between a car and a motorcycle on June 17th, 2023, has left the community mourning the loss of Jason Russell (42), a resident of Portsmouth. The incident occurred at the intersection of Bonser Avenue and Endicott Avenue at approximately 12:49 pm.
According to authorities, a Hyundai car driven by Amber Stiltner (20) from Lucasville was heading west on Endicott, intending to make a southbound turn onto Bonser. Simultaneously, Jason Russell was riding his Honda motorcycle north on Bonser, approaching the intersection. The motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the Hyundai, resulting in Russell being forcefully ejected from his bike.
First responders were quickly on the scene, but tragically, Jason Russell succumbed to his injuries before he could be airlifted to a trauma center.
The crash investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are awaiting the coroner’s report. Once completed, the findings will be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutors Office for further assessment.
