What started as a routine solid waste call turned into a drug bust when a sharp-eyed trash worker tipped off authorities about two men who might have warrants—and he was right!
Deputies rolled up to County Road 123, where they found a Chesapeake Police Officer already detaining one suspect. A quick check with dispatch confirmed that the man had felony warrants through Common Pleas, and he was promptly placed under arrest.
But the real shocker came during the search. Inside the suspect’s pockets, deputies found:
🔹 A plastic baggie of crystal-like substance (later tested positive for meth)
🔹 A sunglasses case hiding a meth pipe
🔹 A metal container with a gray/tan substance (tested positive for fentanyl)
🔹 A piece of foil holding more crystal-like substance
And the second man? Turns out he also had a warrant out of Proctorville Mayor’s Court. He didn’t get off the hook either—both men were hauled off to Lawrence County Jail.
Deputies photographed the drugs, secured them as evidence, and wrapped up a night that started with garbage but ended in handcuffs!
