Folks running around town breaking into cars continues to be a problem all over town with crooks targeting residences and businesses alike.
The latest target creates a big problem for those hoping to market our town as a tourist destination. Nobody wants to come for some kayaking or to view fall foliage and end up with a damaged vehicle.
Just after 7 am, an employee of the Holiday Inn on 2nd Street contacted police to report someone broke into their vehicle in the parking lot.
At 8 am, another victim contacted police to report that crooks had gotten into their car, which was parked on the Sunoco side of the lot.
At 2:30 pm, Baird Avenue neighbors reported that several vehicles were hit by a thief. The suspect was described as a dark-haired man on a bicycle. They said he usually hits cars around 4 am. Neighbors requested extra police patrols.
