Despite the fact that dozens of people are arrested every week for trying to sneak items through the Walmart self-checkout, people just keep trying.
Store security called officers to the South Point Walmart after they caught a man and a woman failing to scan items. They said the pair rolled up to the self-checkout with a buggy full of stuff and a bookbag stuffed with items but only scanned a few of the items.
Though they left the buggy at the door when they saw security was on to them, they walked out of the store with the book bag stuffed with items. Officers viewed the security footage and arrested the pair for theft.
Officers were called back to Walmart after security caught a man taking items from the shelves, stuffing them into a diaper bag, and then heading to the self-checkout with a female companion. The woman then scanned and paid for just the diaper bag, and the pair left the building. Officers took the pair into custody for theft.
