Officers responded to a report of kids riding bikes unsupervised at 1 am, threats of a shooting, and helped clear away junked cars on Thursday. We’ break down some highlights of the calls in these next 8 slides.

Threats Were Made

Thursday

At 1:16 am, a caller told police that four people were circling her in a car on Waller Street. She said they threatened to shoot her.

Both the caller and the vehicle had left by the time police arrived 11 minutes later.

Out After Dark

Police answered a call to Kentland Avenue just after 2 am to check on the welfare of some children. A caller reported a man for not looking after his kids.

The caller claimed the dad was high and not taking care of the children. It was alleged they were out riding their bikes at night and were left alone for several hours during the night.

Police spoke to the kids at 2:42 am. They admitted they had been outside on their bikes within the hour and one of them was still awake. Police suggested daytime was a better time for bike riding.

A motion alarm sounded at the Dollar General on Harding Avenue just after 2 am.  The building looked secure and a delivery driver sleeping in his semi said he didn’t see or hear anything.

Sleep Screaming

Police responded to a report of a man screaming and pounding on the dumpster at the Sunset Bowling Lanes on 17th Street at 3:46 am.

The homeless man at the scene was all right. He told officers he’d been asleep and that he sometimes sleepwalks.

Police advised him to keep the noise down.

Meanwhile at Speedway

Police responded to a report of a man harassing customers at the Speedway on Gallia just after 9 am. Officers discovered he had an active warrant through the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers responded to an OD on Robinson Avenue just after 1 am. EMTs were able to revive the woman and transported her to SOMC.
