Deputies teamed up with the Department of Agriculture and Wildlife Officers to rescue exotic animals being kept illegally at an Oak Street home in McDermott.
Wildlife Officers stood by at the fire station while deputies arrived on the scene to serve warrants on two individuals. However, they were not home.
The Rush Fire Department also lent a hand by cutting a lock off a cage where animals were kept.
Wildlife officers safely recovered the animals.
Injured Man Sets Out on Foot for Help After McDermott Crash
An injured man managed to make his way on foot to a nearby residence after a crash on Cooper Road on Monday evening.
Just before 8 pm, a resident called 9-1-1 to say a man had walked to his home looking for help after a crash. The man had a cut above his eye.
Dispatch sent for EMS and contacted the Ohio State Patrol. Union Township Rescue Squad responded to the scene and reported that there were two injured individuals. They requested an air ambulance.
The Union Township Fire Department set up a landing zone at Northwest High School and transported a victim to a Huntington hospital.
