WHEELERSBURG-William Burt Blevings- “Billy Jack”, 88, of Wheelersburg, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at his home. Bill was born April 30, 1936 in Portsmouth to the late Elmer D. Blevings and Gladys Hayslip Blevings. Bill was a Navy veteran serving during the Korean conflict and worked at Detroit Steel as a millwright.
Bill was a member of Wheelersburg First Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters and a granddaughter, Alisha Tomblin. Bill is survived by his wife, Charlott Allen Blevings, whom he married August 17, 1954 in Lawrenceburg, IN.
He is also survived by two daughters, Connie Tomblin Blevings (H. Lee Tomblin) and Cheryl Justice Blevings (Vic “James” Justice); four grandchildren, Jamie, Heath, Jason and Tashina; eleven great grandchildren and eight great, great grandchildren.
Services for Bill will be 1:00 pm Monday, February 3, 2025 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Sam Cooke officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a Military graveside service by James Dickey Post 23. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm Sunday, February 2, 2025 and one hour before the 1:00 pm service on Monday.
