Officers responded to a report with the makings of a pretty good country song just before 4 am in Lucasville.
A man reported that his girlfriend had accused him of hiding another woman in the trunk of his car and had whipped out a baseball bat demanding to know the woman’s identity.
The girlfriend told deputies that officers were at the home earlier looking for the woman, and she claimed she had video of him putting the woman in the trunk.
However, when officers checked the trunk, there was no one inside, and the girlfriend wasn’t able to locate the video she claimed to have taken.
However, it turned out the man had open warrants from both the Scioto County and Ross County Sheriff’s Office. Police took the man into custody.
The girlfriend called 9-1-1 again just before 11 am the next day to report three men, one of whom was a little person, on the property. She claimed they were removing items from her vehicle. Additionally, she said she had locked her children in the house and come out with a baseball bat to confront them.
She told officers she had photos of the intruders, but all she had to show them was a picture of a lamp. Officers noted that the garage door appeared broken and suspected the woman might be having a mental health crisis.
The woman contacted officers again at 5:30 pm to report a naked woman was attempting to break into the house. Once again, she claimed to have security footage.
Police checked the area but found nothing suspicious.
