If everyone could figure out how to get along after a breakup, it would save Portsmouth Police Officers a whole lot of time and trouble. They generally make several calls a day dealing with unhappy exes.
A call that came in just after 7:30 p.m. about an assault ended with a woman behind bars. At 7:34 p.m., a woman contacted police to say her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend came to her apartment to assault her.
The alleged assailant also called police a few minutes later and said she’d be waiting at another apartment in the complex to speak with them.
After an investigation, police arrested 44-year-old Sherri Hicks for assault. Hicks has previous arrests for DUI, endangering children, and driving without a license.
