An angry pet owner contacted Portsmouth Police to say a group of men assaulted her dog on Walnut Street. She claimed a group of seven men had started arguing with her.
When officers arrived on the scene, she said a man she’d had previous incidents with had walked by telling people she was a thief and that someone threw a shoe at her dog’s face.

However, she said the shoe incident had actually happened on a different night. Officers advised her on the process of obtaining a protection order.
