A Walmart shoplifter also took the time to shoot up in the store’s restroom. Thankfully, a sharp-eyed employee spotted her and called for help.
It started when an employee at the South Point Walmart took a restroom break and noticed some suspicious behavior in the next stall. She heard something hit the floor and noticed a syringe cap on the floor. She bent down for a closer look and spotted a woman falling forward off the toilet in the stall. She immediately notified a manager. Store security called deputies and sent for an ambulance.
Deputies cleared the restroom of customers and discovered the woman in the stall. She initially said she was trying to secure some feminine protection, but admitted that she had syringes on her and that she had flushed some drugs down the toilet.
EMS checked the woman out, and once her vital signs returned to normal, officers read the woman her rights. She also admitted she’d stolen several items from the store.
Officers took her into custody and booked her into the Lawrence County Jail. During the booking process, a jail officer handed her a blanket, but noticed the woman shove something into it.
When officers examined the blanket, they found a little plastic baggy full of cocaine that the woman claimed didn’t belong to her. Officers impounded the drugs.
