2 Found Dead in Catlettsburg.
The Boyd County Sheriff’s office has released this information on social media: On October 2, 2020, at 6:30 PM the Boyd County Coroner’s Office was dispatched to State Route 168, just outside of Catlettsburg in reference to a single-vehicle accident.
Upon arrival on the scene, Deputy Coroner Dr. R. Beadle spoke with responders on the scene and was advised the vehicle in question may have multiple fatalities. The vehicle in question was discovered by a person in the area that happened to look over the embankment.
During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle contained 2 decedents and had occurred several weeks prior to anyone discovering the accident. The decedents were identified as 40-year-old Laura Carter – Broughton and 49-year-old Donald Griffith. Both decedents had been reported missing and entered into NCIC on or about August 27, 2020, by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police Post 9.
The investigation determined that both decedents were last seen in Martin County in the early morning hours of August 27th and advised they were en route to Ashland Kentucky. Since that time, the family has been searching for the decedents through social media and news outlets.

Martin County Sheriff’s Office took the missing person reports on each decedent and the investigation determined they were last seen in Albany, Ky., on August 27, 2020, and possibly in Martin County, Ky.
