May 20, 2025: From medical emergencies and car crashes to suspicious characters and prowlers, it was a busy day for first responders across Scioto County.
Although the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office stopped providing detailed call logs to Scioto County Daily News or any media requests in early 2025 — a move that reduced our ability to deliver the in-depth stories you’ve come to expect — we remain committed to transparency and public safety reporting. Here’s everything we can tell you about what happened in your community.
🏥 EMS Calls – 20+ Medical Emergencies
Local EMS units were in constant motion, responding to over 20 medical calls across the county. These included:
- 🚑 Transported Emergencies on:
- Midway Ave
- Dogwood Ridge Rd
- Junior Furnace-Powellsville Rd
- Lucasville-MInford Rd
- Allegheny Hill Rd
- Rosemount Rd
- Pond Run Rd
- Pirate Dr (EMT Ohio campus)
- Maple Benner Rd (Rubyville Fire Dept)
- ❌ Non-Transport Incidents on Gallia Pike and other locations
- 🚨 Injury Crash: First responders assisted at a crash with injuries at the intersection of SR 852 and US 52. At least one person was transported.
🔥 Fire/Alarm Calls – 5 False Alarms or Drops
Emergency services also responded to several alarm drops, which thankfully turned out to be:

- Miller Rd
- Bloom Furnace Rd
- Henley Deemer Rd
- Gallia Pike
🚔 Law Enforcement Calls – From Prowlers to Process Serving
Criminal and Civil Calls Included:
- 👤 Suspicious Activity:
- A suspicious vehicle on Granite St
- A prowler call on Pershing Ave
- A suspicious person on Brame Rd
- 🧒 Juvenile Complaint: A call on Duis St led to a juvenile being transported
- 🛵 Motorcycle/ATV Complaint: Rosemount Rd
- 📜 Civil Process Serving: Deputies served papers at more than 10 locations, including Pleasant Valley Apartments, Poole St, Noel Ln, and more
- 📄 Threats/Harassment:
- Linwood Ave
- West Ave
- Unknown location tied to a completed report
- 🛑 Traffic Offenses:
- Warnings issued on SR 52 and Bulwer St/Gallia Pike
- 🕵️♀️ Investigations:
- Complaints investigated on Pine Hill Ln, Pleasant Ave, Germany Hollow Rd, Maple St, and Jordan Days Rd
- 📄 Reports Taken:
- At the Scioto County Jail
- Four Keys location (resulted in arrest)
👮♂️ Miscellaneous Activity
- 👮 Deputy patrols reported in Clay Township and Dogwood Ridge
- 🚓 Escort/Parade Duty at Dry Run Rd and Otway’s Family Dollar
- 🚨 Assist Other Agencies on South Nickson
