Man Tries To Pin Traffic Stop on Brother, Goes To Jail
A traffic stop led to the arrest of a man with an open warrant just before 5 am. An officer was patrolling in the 1600 block of Kendall Avenue when he spotted a vehicle with tags that did not match the description of the vehicle.
The officer stopped the car in the 1400 block of Lincoln Street. The driver identified himself and said the vehicle belonged to one of the passengers. He didn’t have an ID and didn’t know his Social Security number.
When officers rang the name and date of birth, they discovered it did not match the picture in their system. The man admitted that he had used his brother’s name and information because he did not like him. He said he lied because he had an open warrant and didn’t want to go to jail. Police arrested him for falsification and took him into custody.
