Man Reportedly Tries To Run Over Dad After Birthday Cake Argument
Just before 2 pm, Portsmouth Police responded to a report that a man tried to run over his father with a truck during an argument.
Witness told police the father owed his son money and promised to buy his grandson a birthday cake. However, the man now refused to pay for the birthday cake.
However, when officers spoke to the dad, he said he didn’t want to press any charges and denied his son tried to run him over.
Man Reports Woman Held Hostage at Motel
A man called 9-1-1 just after 9 am to claim there were four men with guns in a room at the Four Keys Motel holding his girlfriend against her will.
He claimed he tried to help her, but she yelled at him to go away because she had a protection order against him.
Two units responded to the Four Keys Inn to investigate. They discovered the woman was fine and advised the man not to misuse the 9-1-1 system.
Man Searches For Missing Brother
A worried brother called PPD from North Carolina to request a welfare check on his brother, whom he believed to be staying in a room at the Holiday Inn.
However, when the officer checked at the hotel, there was no one by that name. Police then checked the Red Roof Inn in Wheelersburg and located the man.
He told officers he was fine but did not want his brother to know where he was and did not wish to speak to him.
Officers contacted the brother and told him what they’d discovered.
