Man Spots His Stolen ATV For Sale on Facebook
A man who filed a report on a stolen ATV last week contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office after he found the item listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace.
He requested that a deputy accompany him to a Dennison Road home to retrieve the vehicle.
When the officer arrived on the scene, the man who lived there told the deputy he purchased the item from the guy who reported it stolen last week prior to the date the man reported it stolen.
Officers took a statement and took a copy of the bill of sale to the home of the reporting party to get his side of the story.
Bike Thief Busted on Grandview Avenue
Portsmouth Police arrested a man for the 10th time after a man caught a bike thief in the act on Grandview Avenue.
The man contacted police just before 6 pm to report a guy had broken into his garage and ridden away on his bicycle. He confronted the man, and the guy got off the bike and ran away down Grandview.
Officers caught up with the man at 17th and Timmonds and took him into custody on a charge of receiving stolen property. They returned the bicycle back to its owner.
This was 46-year-old Jeffery Dean Winn’s 10th visit to the Scioto County Jail. Previous charges include domestic violence, aggravated menacing, theft, petty theft, driving without a license, probation violation, criminal trespass, and contempt of court.
Burglar Busted in Kinneys Lane Home
The owner of a Kinneys Lane home contacted police at 3:35 am to report he heard voices inside his home.
When officers arrived on the scene, they heard a man and a woman inside. However, the woman managed to flee out a basement window.
Police took the man into custody and impounded several items.
